Our Pastors and Leaders

Our Pastors

Steve Gaultney

Senior Pastor (steve@cchk.org.hk)

Pastor Steve comes to us with a background in international, interdenominational ministry. Steve was born in Africa to medical missionaries, and spent his childhood there before returning to the U.S. for university. During college, he spent nine months in Haiti as an interpreter for medical teams, and served as the youth minister of a Haitian church. After receiving his Master in International Management, Steve worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). In 1991, Steve resigned as Andersen Consulting’s UK Marketing Director to become a part-time ‘Mr. Mom’, sculptor and contract children’s writer. In 1994, he began seminary in Zurich, Switzerland before transferring to Princeton Theological Seminary in the US where he received his M.Div. Steve was ordained in 1998 as an American Baptist minister. Prior to coming to Hong Kong, Pastor Steve served international churches in London, England (four years) and Bonn, Germany (seven years). Pastor Steve loves most sports, and was rumored to have been part of a Mah Jong club at the tender age of 12. He has been married for 26 years to Marian, who also grew up as a child of missionaries in Africa. They have three children: Trenton, Camie and Lindie.

Wade Wollin

Associate Pastor (wade@cchk.org.hk)

Wade comes to Hong Kong from NewSong Church, San Dimas, CA where he was an ordained pastor. He received his seminary training from Fuller Theological School in Pasadena, CA. Wade has been married for 14 years to his wife Erica and they have two children Cody and Maya who keep him quite busy. When Wade is not in the office, he’s enjoying running andexploring the green spaces of Hong Kong.

Josh Loke

Youth Director (josh@cchk.org.hk)

If you ask Josh what he is, he’ll probably say “Australia, American, Chinese, Malaysian, in short, a bit messed up.” Having lived in over 20 different locations across 8 cities and 4 countries, his past is summarized in the word “internationale”.

In 2007, Josh had just graduated with a Bachelor in Information Technology when God called him to serve as a full time youth intern in Hong Kong. He lived here for a year, and developed a deep compassion for the people of this city, as well as a strong love for the pace. Resigned to go back to Australia to work within the I.T. sector, he left the city, only to be brought back to be CCHK’s first Youth Director in 2009.

Josh loves to climb and explore Hong Kong, but spends his time when indoors writing music and prose.

When to Contact the Pastor Deaths and other tragedies are often the only times people think of contacting their Pastor. While these are important times to notify the Pastor, CCHK’s pastoral team are available if you need help dealing with many of the complex issues we face today, or if you just want somebody to listen. — Here are some suggested times when it would be appropriate to call upon your Pastor’s services, friendship and support:

  • When you are facing a serious family problem
  • When someone is interested in the church
  • When there is illness or hospitalization
  • When there is a death
  • When there is a wedding planned
  • When you must make an important decision
  • When you are unhappy about the church
  • When you need someone to talk with in confidence
  • When you celebrate the birth of a child
  • When you are facing a spiritual struggle

If you would like to speak to one of our pastors, please contact the church office or speak to our pastors directly.
