Children Ministry

Sunday School is a Partnership

Sunday school is a voluntary service as well as a collaborative partnership between the Church and parents. Most of us have or have had children of Sunday school age, and service by the Sunday School team on Sundays is to help each other on our journey as Christians; and offer an opportunity for our children to build firm foundations in their understanding of God.

This ministry will not be possible without your kind cooperation and support as parents in a spirit of sharing. We would invite you to commit to serving our Sunday School programme in one or more of the following ways:

To serve as a teacher or superintendant or House group assistant.

To attend Sunday School sessions when your child or teacher needs your support.

If you wish to find out more about serving in the Children’s Ministry, please speak to either Mary Vittachi, Stephanie Cheung or Janet Ho. We have posts fitting for different kinds of talents and time schedules.

Buddy Project

With the success last year, Children’s Ministry will be continuing with the Buddy Project this year, with one adult being paired up with one child of the same sex to give mutual prayer support, and give care and attention to the little one. The Buddy Draw will take place during the October Fellowship Lunch. Please sign up to be a volunteer Big Buddy.

Interface with Youth Ministry

With Josh Loke, our Youth Director, joining CCHK, the new dividing line between the Youth Ministry and Children’s Ministry will be drawn at when a child starts senior school, which signifies an important change in his life. It is felt that a different level of support will benefit his taking a further step in faith.

Parent Education Programme

We have pleasure to announce that during this year, several ministries in CCHK, including Children’s Ministry will be co-operating to run a Parent Education programme. Please look out for further announcements from Sheila Chuang, who heads this project.

We welcome your active participation in bringing up your children “in the training and instruction of the Lord”. (Ephesians 6:4). For comments and inquiries, please feel free to contact us at children@cchk.org.hk

We pray that you and your household will be blessed, and ask for your prayers for the Children’s Ministry.
