Stewardship
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)
The objective of the Stewardship ministry is to encourage and empower each and every congregation member to recognize and deploy his/her unique gifting of the 3Ts (Time, Talent and Treasure) for the glory of God.
In using one’s time and talent to serve in any ministry area, we believe this is living out God’s first and foremost commandment - to love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.
With respect to treasure, a timeless reminder is found in Deuteronomy 8:17-18:
“You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.”
Jesus gave us a second commandment to love your neighbour as yourself. The world would be a much better place if those who have too much would give to those who have too little. Tithing and returning your first fruits to the Lord is teaching that we hear and read, but it’s actually doing it that counts. With respect to the two commandments, Jesus said “do this and you will live.” (Luke 10:28)
In conjunction with the Outreach ministry, good Stewardship of our earthly treasures will help feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and care for orphans and widows in distress, which are all the things we are called to do for our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:31-46).
Make Stewardship part of your With God Life-style.
