Worship
CCHK has recently held a Worship Retreat where we reflected on the meaning and importance of having a “Heart of Worship”. We realised that worship that is holy and pleasing to God is one which incorporates love and justice.
We believe that worship is more than music, amongst other things, it involves any act in which we use our heart, soul, mind and strength to praise God. We have been graciously blessed in order for us to be a blessing to others. Whatever gift you have, we assure you that there would be something you can give.
As you will see below, our Worship Ministry is in the midst of some exciting developments and there are plenty of opportunities for CCHK members to take part in Worship Ministry:
Music Worship: Our Music Worship Teams consist of worship leaders, vocalists, and a wide range of instrumentalists. We believe in offering our gifts and talents in our music worship but more importantly in having a “heart of worship”. Our different teams embrace an eclectic style of worship each week which embody God-centered worship that is creative and reflective of various genres and traditions. If you have a heart for music worship, we invite you to use your musical talents and to join us in a variety of Music Worship opportunities available in the Main Service, Youth and Family Services, Outreach, Life Groups, and special events. If you would like to find out more, contact: Jannie Tam.
Choir: We are also looking to build a choir of good choral voices who will contribute special musical offerings for worship and special occasions. If you would like to be involved, contact: Karen Teoh.
Service-Leading: Service leaders perform an important role during the worship service in welcoming newcomers, making announcements, and leading prayers and responses. If you would like to know more about this ministry or become involved, contact: Mary Vittachi.
Drama and Storytelling: We welcome the presence of our children and worship alongside them in the opening moments of our main service; it is a celebration of God’s grace in community through song and inter-active storytelling. We are also seeking to bring more visual representations to our worship through Drama. If you would like to know more about this or would like to help, contact: Nury Vittachi for Storytelling and Mary Vittachi for Drama.
Creative Design: We invite participants to join us in building the creative elements of our special events. This group will meet to brainstorm, design and implement these events along with the pastors. If you would like to know more about this or would like to be involved, contact: Mary Vittachi.
Finally, if you have any general queries on Worship Ministry, you may contact any of the members of the Worship Ministry core team: Sylvia Keung, Jannie Tam, Mary Vittachi and Erica Liu Wollin.
